🐛🦋 A fascinating project for our Year 2 pupils, who observed the development of 10 caterpillars received just after hatching.
At first, they measured barely 2 cm… and for 30 days, the students watched them grow, shed their skin, move around, and most importantly, build their cocoons using silk thread. 🐛
After one week, the magic happened: our caterpillars transformed into magnificent butterflies! ✨
The students then fed the butterflies by testing and selecting different foods. In doing so, they learned to identify their needs and gained a better understanding of living things. 🌿
Finally, we released them into Regent’s Park to conclude this wonderful experience about the life cycle and metamorphosis. 🦋
