Our Middle School pupils visited the Houses of Parliament, in the Palace of Westminster. They visited the two chambers (Commons and Lords) and other parts of the building, including the Great Hall. There, they stood on the spot where Nelson Mandela or Barack Obama delivered great speeches.
They then took part in a workshop about the power of petitions, during which they also met Baroness Garden of Frognal for a Q&A session.
Finally, on their way back, pupils walked by Julian Opie’s modern statue on Carnaby Street. Eagle-eyed Rayan even spotted a blue plaque commemorating Canaletto’s time in London.
